Check the token, not the story
No checklist removes risk, but a consistent review can expose obvious warning signs before funds are involved.

Verify the address
Match the token address across the project source, explorer, and market-data page. Names and tickers can be copied.

Review token controls
Check whether mint or freeze authority remains active. Active authority can allow supply changes or wallet restrictions.

Inspect liquidity
Look at liquidity depth, its ownership or lock status, and whether ordinary sells are reaching the pool.
- Thin liquidity increases price impact.
- Removable liquidity creates exit risk.
- Recent sell transactions help confirm market activity.

Check concentration
Review the largest holders and related wallets. High concentration can allow a few addresses to move the market sharply.

Walk away from pressure
Urgency, guaranteed returns, unsolicited messages, and unclear signing prompts are reasons to stop rather than act faster.
